  Russia=King of the North, USA=King of the South? New info coming in from Annual Meeting 2018

  it was announced in this year’s annual meeting that they believe that the king of the north is russia and the king of the south is us/britain.

  for me this is the first time hearing from the society actually identifying the identity of the king of the north.

  very interesting times!

  What changes would stabilize JW membership?

  i've seen many topics about how things are changing or might be changing in jw doctrine/culture.

  some have extrapolated how those changes would result in declining jw membership.

  i'm curious to know what changes others think would stabilize those numbers.

  Wt. needs to sell everything off pay retribution to all abuse victims then what ever is left give it evenly to the rest of the followers and say they were wrong. Sorry. Do this on a public forum for everyone to see. But then there will still be those who will follow them. Still Totally ADD

  I consider it child abuse now. It puts children in horrible danger. When I was six years old I was made to work whole streets by myself. I was verbally abused by householders and had dogs order to attack me. I know it is diffrent now but a child is still subject to abuse. Still Totally ADD

  Just to let everyone know Jamestown ny has just open up the national comedy center. It is a state of the art museum with holograph acts of past and present comedians. It's something else for this town and two blocks over you can go to the Lucy museum. This was the town she was born in. Just thought you all would like to know. Still Totally ADD

  What are they trying to hide

  ok. we are all aware of the scandal around the non reporting of child abuse cases to the authorities by the elders and how it was part of watchtower policy.. this has probably been discussed before, which i apologize for now if it has.. the obvious view that most of us make as to why the gb are so reluctant to comply with the authorities by revealing their database around child abuse allegations, is that the leadership at watchtower hq likely were trying to safeguard the reputation of the organisation.. however, (just a theory) are they hiding something more sinister which could in effect devastate the organisation ie could it be they are hiding some things within the gb itself, whether it be some individuals within the gb of the past or even present who might have had some serious allegations made against them which the authorities are never going to know about?

  i mean why the hell are they going to such lengths to hide everything???.

  any thoughts?

  Smiddy3 that statement made by Pat leads me to believe it is true. Most of what was said happen to me also when being bully into keeping quiet. It seems killing the victim is a ploy sexual abusers use on small children not all but many. What a eye opener. Still Totally ADD

  Saw homemade "Cart art" and murmurs about cart working yesterday.To old to do cart work?

  yesterday i parked at a rest stop for a bit and there were 2 ladys at a cart.

  the cart sign was hand painted.

  that was odd to me.

  Just watch 2 men standing at a cart for 3 hours straight. One looked like he was around 60 and the other in his 20's. Not one person talked to them. What a waste of time. Still Totally ADD

  Funny occurrences

  what were some funny experiences you had of things that happened during talks at the meetings?.

  a few of mine:.

  - a brother had dyed his hair before his talk and it was raining heavily when he arrived at the hall and the dye was running down his face during his talk and his skin went more and more grey as the black dye ran down it.

  I was 14 at the time running the sound at the back of the hall during the service meeting. My dad whose name is Archie was giving a talk when this stranger' walks in and sets in the back row. You can tell he was drunk but was quiet. In the middle of my dad's talk the stranger stands up and shouts out "Give them hell Archie" and walks out. It was one of my dads old drinking buddy's. Everyone found it to be very funny. Still Totally ADD

  Expected pain

  last week was a big week for me in terms of coming totally clean to my wife and her being more than on board to leave the jw’s with me.

  we know what to expect but things happen from family and it still hurts just as bad.

  last night my wife got a long text message from her brother that has seemed to be in the fence and he told her that same guilt tripping rhetoric that the wt uses about life in the paradise etc.

  Sorry to hear about this son. I feel your wife's brother when hearing what she had to say scared him back into cult thinking. It happens all the time. The pull of the cult is very, very strong. Fear and gulit is their biggest weapon and they use it well. Being born-in your brother in law has been conditioned for years on guilt and fear. It really is no surprise he said what he said. Him sitting on the fence like he was doing for along time then all of a sudden your wife let's him know how she feels really rattle his cage.

  Please don't take it personally you have to pity him, he is a victim of a concept just like all of us at one time. Give him time maybe he will come around one day. Just remember you guys are doing the right thing and just like your mother said we are there for you. Try to have a good day we will be thinking about you. Still Totally ADD aka dad

  Simon and RubaDub you both should be ashamed of yourselves using such degrading languge concerning Sen. Warren. Do you call people of color or minorities such words? You may not like her and that is fine but to use degrading name calling is wrong. I don't like bullies and this kind of talk is what bullies use. Showing respect to all people is one of the highest forms of dignity we can show each other. I often tell people who think they are right all the time is 100 years from now no one will give a damn about what we thought. Your forum is one of healing and encouragement for all here and I thank you for it. But enough is enough when it comes to degrading language. All it does is divide us not bring us together.
